Beth Daugherty

Executive Director

Beth Daugherty, M.S., M.A., E-RYT 500, YACEP has been working with the Christina Phipps Foundation since 2010. She was in the first training class offered by the foundation and offered a free CPF yoga class at her studio (Lifespan Yoga) in Jacksonville, FL. Since then she taught yoga at many of the CPF class locations including Mayo Clinic and MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has served on the Board of Directors and as Executive Director training over 300+ yoga teachers since the founding. She has grown the foundation to include live classes, Zoom and a CPF YouTube channel. There are now CPF teachers all over the southeastern USA, plus Utah, Texas, Washington, Maine, Germany and Greece. Beth is certified in Children’s Yoga, Oncology Yoga, Chair Yoga and Curvy Yoga. Beth’s 10 yoga books, including Chair Yoga and her Living the 8 Limbs of Yoga series, all promote a practical, gentle and meaningful practice on and off the mat. In addition to yoga, she has enjoyed teaching undergraduate psychology, research design, statistics, and program evaluation.

Bridget Floyd

Alumni Communications Coordinator

Bridget Floyd is currently serving as Alumni Communications Coordinator for the Christina Phipps Foundation. After completing her CPF teacher training, she went on to teach the cancer community at Wilmington Yoga Center in Wilmington, NC.

Bridget is an RYS 200 hr yoga instructor continuing her yoga education. Her oncology yoga classes bring gentle movement and active rest to those who need it most. Using Vinyasa flow, Restorative yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation, her class aims to introduce support, encouragement, and reflection for those undergoing the effects and aftereffects of the cancer experience.


Before joining the foundation, Bridget was a college level English instructor for over twenty years. During that time, she served as editor of the college literary arts journal, teaching students how to run a website, evaluate writing submissions, and publish a full journal celebrating college level writing throughout North Carolina. With an MA in Creative Writing, she brings a love of writing, editing, and connecting with others to the foundation. After losing both parents to cancer and surviving her own cancer treatment, Bridget is committed to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer through compassionate service. 



Shena Hernandez

Alumni Data Coordinator

Shena Hernandez is the Alumni Data Coordinator for the Christina Phipps Foundation. She graduated from CPF 10/22/2017 and has been teaching yoga with the foundation since then. She taught live CPF classes at Archbold Cancer Center and Piedmont Cancer Wellness. Now Shena teaches Gentle Adaptive Yoga Tuesdays at 5:30 on Zoom. She is a Yoga Alliance 500 hour teacher, YACEP, Usui Reiki I & II Practitioner, CPF, and Yinstinct Yoga for Menopause Care & Bone Health trained.


Shena has worked in IT Management for over 30 years with the State of Georgia and has lived in a few different parts of the state, living now in the mountains of Ellijay, Georgia. She brings a wide variety of IT and data skills to the foundation.


Shena's mission is to share her love of yoga with others and help students realize what a profound impact yoga can have in their lives.  Her current CPF classes highlight asana adaptability with focused breathwork, creating unique options tailored to fit the needs of the student.  Join her and allow the stress of daily living to recede and invest in a lifetime of physical and mental wellbeing.
