Live Zoom Oncology Yoga Classes

The Christina Phipps Foundation offers free oncology yoga classes each week to the cancer community. Each CPF-trained instructor has a particular style such as floor yoga, chair yoga or restorative yoga. Fill out the application here, look at the list and select your class, indicate on your application what class you would like. For more detailed descriptions of classes click here.

Monday

Jessica Otieno and Melanie McNally combine decades of teaching experience with specialized training in oncology-informed yoga. Their shared goal is simple: to create a safe, compassionate space where every participant feels supported exactly as they are. The average class size is 5. 

Tuesday

4:30 pm - 6:00 pm, Virtual Room Opens at 4:15
CPF Oncology Yoga Class
Kim teaches gentle yoga class. When you fill out the form below indicate you would like Kim's Gentle Yoga class. The average class size is 4.

Shena Hernandez teaches a gentle adaptive yoga class that focuses on postures that build resilience combined with breathwork to soothe the nervous system. Having taught a cancer wellness class now for a decade, Shena uses this experience to provide a range of adaptations to yoga postures, ensuring each student is able to tailor class to their individual needs. You can join her Tuesdays at 5:30 pm Eastern via Zoom.  When you fill out the form below, indicate you want Shena's class.The average class size is 7.

Wednesday

Julie Billig is a certified RYT 500 yoga instructor and CPF Oncology Yoga graduate (Wilmington, NC, 2025). Inspired by the healing power of community and the peace she found through yoga during a friend’s cancer journey, Julie now creates classes that are calm, positive, and welcoming to all ability levels. By offering chair yoga that is both seated and standing, Julie's class is gentle and exactly what you need to settle in on a midweek evening. Join her for a practice that nurtures both body and spirit. The average class size is 3.

Thursday

3:30 pm Pacific Time | 6:30 pm Eastern Time
A gentle, supportive space to rest, restore and connect with others in the cancer community.  The class is led by Amber DeBarge.  Amber has specialized in yoga for cancer therapy for the previous ten years, focusing primarily on women affected by breast cancer during the last six. The average class size is 8.
