Asanas  


Standing Triangle Flow

Begin in Mountain.  Inhale and as you exhale step your right foot back turning the right toes out to the side.  Pause for a breath or two and ensure both feet are pointed slightly out and the hips and shoulders are facing the long edge of your mat.  On an inhale reach your arms up and out reaching through the fingers into 5-pointed start.  Exhale bending the knees and bring the arms to a field goal shape, palms forward, fingers up.  Repeat a few times moving with your breath.  Let your arms rest by your side.


Turn your right toes in; inhale, bring your arms parallel with the earth and exhale softening the left knee slightly (micro bend).  Inhale reaching through the left fingers and exhale bringing the left hand to the thigh/shin/or a block placed behind the left leg.  Inhale reaching the right arm up toward the sky.  Hold triangle for a few breaths; and then on an inhale slowly bring yourself up and return to your center.  (Note:  It may be easier for many to deeply bend the front knee before inhaling and bring themselves back up)

Feel free to turn to 5-pointed star / goddess flow and then explore triangle on the other side.


Seated Triangle Flow

Sit comfortably in chair with a long spine.  Feet can be on the floor or on a blanket or block in Mountain.  You want your thighs to be parallel with the floor. 


Note: If you find your knees are lower than your hips add a blanket or blocks under your feet; if your knees are too high sit on a blanket.

Step the feet apart, widening the legs as far as is comfortable.  Inhale extending the arms up and out reaching through the fingers into 5-pointed star.  Exhale bringing the arms to a field goal shape, palms forward, fingers up Repeat a few times, moving with your breath.  Let the arms rest by your sides. 


Option: On the inhale the legs can be lengthened with the arms if that is comfortable; the exhale would bring the legs back to the bent position with feet on the ground.


Lengthen the right leg, and bring the arms parallel to the floor, palms down.  Inhale and reach the right arm to the side and exhale bringing the right hand to the leg or a block placed behind the left leg.  Inhale reaching the right arm up toward the sky.  Hold Triangle for a few breaths and then on an inhale slowly return to center.

Feel free to turn to 5-pointed star / goddess flow and then explore triangle on the other side.
