Kristen Burton is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), Equine Yoga Teacher, Equine Gestalt Coach®, Reiki Master Practitioner, and cancer survivor who is passionate about helping people find moments of peace, strength, and connection during life's most challenging seasons.
Breast Cancer Diagnosis
After a breast cancer diagnosis in 2020, Kristen experienced firsthand the physical, emotional, and mental impact that cancer can have on every aspect of life. During treatment and recovery, yoga became an important part of her healing journey. Through breath, gentle movement, mindfulness, and self-compassion, she discovered tools that helped her navigate uncertainty and reconnect with herself. That experience now inspires the way she supports others.
With more than 35 years in healthcare administration, Kristen understands both the clinical and personal sides of the cancer experience. She brings a warm, compassionate approach to her work, creating spaces where people feel welcomed, supported, and accepted exactly as they are. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that healing is not about perfection—it's about meeting yourself with kindness and honoring your own unique journey.
In addition to teaching yoga, Kristen is the founder of A Pivotal Shift and co-founder of Hope in a Horseshoe, where she helps women and children build resilience, confidence, and self-awareness through trauma-informed, experiential programs.
Oncology Yoga
Kristen is honored to partner with the Christina Phipps Foundation to offer oncology yoga classes for individuals navigating diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and caregiving. Her hope is that each participant leaves class feeling a little more grounded, supported, and empowered than when they arrived.
Her guiding belief is simple: even in the midst of life's greatest challenges, healing, hope, and connection are always possible.
